MJ Hudson represented the founder of Backed VC on the establishment of a new community-driven €30 million pan-European seed-stage fund. Backed VC publicly announced its launch in April 2016, but has been active for several months: the fund has already invested in 10 startups across 4 different countries, including Boiler Room (a music video streaming service), The Family (a startup accelerator), Jukedeck (an artificially intelligent music composer), Unmade (a knitwear design platform), Lystable (a freelancer management system), Tech Will Save Us (a children’s electronic kits manufacturer), and Armada Interactive (a mobile gaming company).
As part of its community-driven ethos, Backed VC is building collaborative software platforms that will allow entrepreneurs to hire talent from across Europe, share knowledge and distribute marketing content, encouraging entrepreneurs to help one another.
Backed VC is founded by Andre de Haes. He is joined by his former McKinsey colleague Alex Brunicki. The MJ Hudson team was led by Eamon Devlin, supported by Mark Silveira and Nikhil Nathwani.
