Services provided
I really appreciate working with the MJ Hudson Quantitative Solutions team – they are very responsive and flexible to our needs. The quality of the tailored reports provided, in terms of content and data feeding process, is top level. Their flexibility, in my opinion, is due to their experienced team using MATLAB to develop their proprietary reporting and calculation tools. They demonstrate a practical approach and are always on time delivering the reports.

Our RiskMonitor platform is well designed to facilitate streamlined onboarding of multiple funds and we were delighted to find a solution for NS Partners that satisfied regulatory needs while enhancing transparency and insight. Given the volume of funds, the solution provides a significant time saving as well as scope for personalisation and added analysis compared with an in house solution. The ESMA guidelines are principal based which brings subjectivity to an appropriate solution, so the ability to change redemption scenarios and approaches via our RiskMonitor platform is also a big advantage when looking at Liquidity Stress Testing

Background

As a growing business, NS Partners sought an automated solution for Liquidity Stress Testing to provide efficient and automated reporting across their funds.

The collaboration between NS Partners and MJ Hudson enables independent stress-testing and enhanced liquidity risk oversight via the RiskMonitor Liquidity solution which tests whether funds can satisfy redemption terms based on multiple stress and redemption scenarios. The sophisticated platform handles complex underlying assets and delivers board friendly reporting to support compliance with regulations and internal governance requirements.

Our approach

The RiskMonitor platform is well designed to facilitate streamlined onboarding of multiple funds and the solution satisfies regulatory needs while enhancing transparency and insight.

The Quantitative Solutions team always work closely with new clients to understand the nature of their funds, discover who the end users of the reports are and for what purposes they are required. This allows them to build bespoke report templates using RiskMonitor’s modular parts and ensures they integrate into the client’s existing workflow.

The solution is end-to-end, so clients do not need to do any manual work in order to receive well presented, accurate and insightful reports. The time saving from this can be very significant. Now reports are sent to NS Partners with quick turnaround after data is received from fund administrators automatically.

Using our RiskMonitor platform, we can easily run off ad hoc reports to compare a different liquidity approach or redemption scenario and provide important nuance and context to this subjective reporting. Our services are always evolving and we continue to add new features for NS Partners such as shareholder analysis and a facility to provide pre-trade checks.
