Background

The company is structured as a MiFID firm in Europe with a UCITS Self-Managed Investment Company domiciled in Ireland. In considering the future requirements of the business, it’s distribution strategy, it’s funds business and the provision of management services to segregated accounts, the client requirement was increasing the efficiencies in its operating model while increasing the degree of experience and capacity in managing the day-to-day operational platform and regulatory burden. The company considered appointing a third party management company but needed its own branding for portfolio management and distribution services. 

Our approach

• Assisted with set-up of UCITS Management Company;
• Overlaid the people, systems and substance of our own Management Company offering on top of the client proprietary management company, therefore fully managing the day-to-day operational structure and regulatory burden which falls on the management company;
• Provided full independent management company service, but under the branding of the client;
• Provided Compliance Officer, a Risk Manager and all operational staff;
• Provided Management Accounting function to maintain the books and records of the Management Company along with monthly management accounts.
