Ben is a Senior Vice President, Actuary and Team Leader in the Investment consulting team, having joined MJ Hudson in September 2020.
His role covers strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, asset-liability modelling, investment research, manager selection, investment and operational due diligence, with a specialist focus on alternative asset classes. This includes private markets (private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate), hedge funds and alternative risk premia.
Experience
Prior to joining MJ Hudson, Ben spent over six years as a Pensions and Investment Consultant at Willis Towers Watson, providing strategic advice to corporates and trustees of UK Defined Benefit pension schemes. Ben’s expertise covered a wide range of areas including investment strategy, journey planning, bulk annuity transactions, funding and liability management.

- assisted a Middle Eastern bank build out their wealth management platform by developing a set of five diversified Sharia-compliant multi-asset model portfolios across the risk-return spectrum
- advised a sovereign treasury on optimising their portfolio strategy to increase the likelihood of achieving their absolute return target
- conducted two real estate manager selection (global and US) exercises on behalf of a €20 billion European corporate pension fund
- carried out strategic asset allocation reviews for three UK local government pension schemes
Interests
Ben is a sports enthusiast, with a particular passion for rugby and cricket. Ben also enjoys competing in marathons and Ironman 70.3 races.
