Meet John
John Jones joined MJ Hudson Investment Advisers as a Senior Adviser in 2012 to work with UK public sector pension funds on procurement, governance and investment strategy.
John is the Independent Pension Board Chair for the Dyfed and Tower Hamlets Council Pension Funds and a member of the LGPS Scheme Advisory Board Governance and Reporting Sub Committee. He is also the Honorary Treasurer of a National Childrens Charity in London, Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of their Investment and Finance Committees. He has over 30 years’ experience of managing and advising Local Authority Pension Funds, including reviewing and developing investment strategies and has led teams that have won awards for investment performance.
Experience
Previously, John worked in senior management posts in local government finance in London for over 30 years and has held the post of Director of Finance at two London Boroughs and a Director post in the Mayor's Office in London. He has worked independently, carrying out several senior level interim management appointments covering a wide range of financial management issues including advising elected Councillors on budget and investment strategy, pension fund issues and managing the finance function.
