Steve Tyson

Steve Tyson is a Senior Adviser. He has over 40 years’ investment experience and holds a portfolio of trustee and advisory positions.

Experience

Steve chairs the Trustees of Scotiabank UK Pension scheme and is a member of the Investment Committee and Trustee of the National Trust Pension Scheme. He is an independent investment adviser to Dorset Council LGPS.

Previously Steve was a NED of Brunel Pension Partnership, a trustee of Devro and Manufacturers Life DB pension schemes and independent adviser to Devon and Gloucestershire LGPS, as well as other advisory investment positions.

His last full-time role was as Chief Investment Officer and CEO of Manulife Asset Management from 2004-2012, responsible for £4 billion of assets under management and advice in a variety of asset allocation and equity strategies.

Previously, he held the position of Head of Global Equities at AXA Investment Managers, Head of US Equities at AXA IM and Sun Life Investment Management. He started his career as an Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Tyndall Investment Services.

During his career, Steve managed a wide range of DB and DC pension funds and has specialised in strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies.

Steve is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
